The drawcard of Australian speedway, a sprintcar has a specially crafted chrome-moly frame (chassis), with a methanol-fueled high powered V8 engine. Sprint cars are simple and brutally powerful.
The power-to-weight ratio of a sprint car is comparable to that of a Formula 1 race car. As such they have no deadweight; if a part doesn't contribute to the car's performance, it is left off. The lightweight outer panels and the light aircraft aluminum wings are perfect for showcasing sponsor names and logos from all angles.
Formula 500's began in Australia in the 1930's and were known then as TQ midgets. With a power to weight ratio of around 360kw/tone, makes these pocket rockets ultra exciting.
The Formula 500's are powered by a 600cc highly tuned grand prix motorcycle engine, fueled by methanol and weighing only 200kg.
Outlaw karts are go karts with QRC roll cages and wings, powered by a side-mounted 450 CC engine, and are fitted with high back racing seats and a five-point Harness. They are a quarter scale of a sprint car. Most tracks are one sixth of a mile or less and are extremely competitive as most karts have similar power to weight ratio.
