Brooke Newson's journey through the diverse world of motorsport in Western Australia is a testament to her versatility and determination. Beginning her career with speedboat racing at a young age, Brooke quickly demonstrated her prowess by securing multiple podium finishes across three categories. Her transition from water to land in 2015 marked a significant shift as she entered the realm of circuit racing. Competing in the Improved Production Racing Association State Championship, Brooke showcased her adaptability and skill, piloting two distinct vehicles to impressive standings in both the IPRAWA and the CAMS state championship. Her progression to the over 3L class in a custom-built Subaru reflects her continuous pursuit of greater challenges and her commitment to excellence in the sport.
Her groundbreaking formation of the first all-female team to compete in the Wanneroo 300 was a bold move that paid off with remarkable results, setting a precedent for future female racers. Her solo venture in the 2018 Improved Production Nationals at Tailem Bend Raceway further showcased her prowess, standing out as the sole female driver among a field of 84.
The transition to Speedway racing marked a new chapter in Brooke's career, fueled by the encouragement of her father and her own passion for the sport. Her debut race in the limited sprintcar January 2020 at Bunbury Speedway was not just a personal milestone but also a significant moment for female representation in the sport. Brooke's story is an inspiring example of breaking through boundaries and succeeding in a challenging and competitive environment.
With four seasons of experience, she has quickly become a notable figure in the Sprintcar community of Western Australia. Her achievements, including a commendable 15th in the LSA Championship of 47 competitors and a podium finish in the West Coast Outlaw Kart Championship debut, highlight her competitive spirit and talent.
Brooke's venture into Formula 500 racing with the Pope Family Racing Team marked a significant chapter in her motorsport career securing consistent top 10 finishes in her debut season.
Now, embarking on her debut in both the 410 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar series and the SAWA 360 Pro Sprints this season, Brooke continues to push boundaries as Western Australia's only female 410 driver.
